MANDATE

The Processes and Finance Support services Group (FAP-PFS) is mandated to ensure the coherence of CERN’s financial information environment by maintaining the rules, structures, and documentation that support financial data, reporting, user-facing procedures, and official Finance publications. This is done in alignment with the needs of Accounting, Financial Analysts, and departments, who remain accountable for the underlying processes and owners of most financial data; FAP-PFS enables and supports them by providing the foundations and coordination they rely on.

As key activities, FAP-PFS coordinates the preparation, approval, and publication of official Finance documents; provides the data and reporting frameworks that ensure coherent and traceable financial information; maintains user-facing Finance and administrative procedures; coordinates communication and training on Finance topics for the CERN community; and supports transversal and administrative activities for the FAP Department. It also delivers limited analytical work, such as workforce analysis, and contributes to major transformation projects including HCM and the future ERP.

To ensure clarity of roles, FAP-PFS does not perform accounting activities, interpret financial figures, provide ERP functional support, or produce standard financial analysis.
